I have a Vertigo and a Depth charge and am considering getting rid of the Depth Charge. I would like to add 2 or 3 more to my arsenal, but am not sure what to get. I was thinking of either the Pro Stock Pearl, the new Fired Up, the new Screamin' Banshee, or the Hot Rod Hybrid. The throw the ball with medium revs at about 15 to 16 mph.

I would go with the fired up then the ball has an amazing back end in fresh oil

Good bowlers use the big B and when they do they create a Storm

Anyway if you want a Heavy oil ball For cheap you should get a Flash Flood and drill it with the pin very close to your ringfinger. An expensive ball would be an Ace or a Triple Xtreme

I have the Vertigo for heavy oil. I need a couple for medium/heavy oil and medium oil.

What about something for drier conditions?

I am getting an Ace in the next month or so and I am getting it to medium to heavy oil. I am getting it drilled with the pin up, that might be good for you to because I have medium revs and I also throw it around 15-16mph

For Dry conditions I would suggest a Hot Rod Hybird, but it is more for light oil than dry. http://www.stormbowling.com/ball/ball.asp?ballid=191
The Scremin' Banshee might be better for dry conditions http://www.stormbowling.com/ball/ball.asp?ballid=194

I too bought the hybrid for drier conditions and let me tell you it doesnt work out very well.....The house I bowl in is very dry on the backends and I drilled the ball accordingly and the ball hooks out of the house....I usually go to my eraser banshee or my eraser PBT so you go with what you think but if you want a hybrid I will make you a deal on one or trade you for something....thanks

Where would the Pro Stock Pearl fit?

What pin placement and top weight do you suggest for any of these balls?

The Ace I would Drill it with the pin up, just an out of the box Ace with no special placements.

I usually use my PSP instead of my hybrid and before I switch to the banshee or PBT as it arcs a little more and is less snappy than the hybrid

I have found that drilling almost anything Pin high with storm gives me the best reaction....im more of a tweener i throw it 15 mph or so and like to rev it up and have found enough length with pin high drills to allow for some misroom and still be able to open up the tougher conditions without many problems

Steve,
I recently bought a Hot Rod PSP and I would consider it one of the best ball purchases I have ever made. This ball fits nicely into my line up with a XXXtreme and Triple X Factor. It is more of a medium-light oil ball that gets through heads extremely clean and comes screaming back into the pocket.
When I see medium conditions I start off with my Triple X. When the lanes break down and I start migrating left there ends up being a point that the Triple X starts leaving flat 10 pins. That's when I switch to the HRPSP and they all fall down. The HRPSP saves up its energy longer and it hits with a better angle of entry in the pocket.
I hope that helps,
John

the ace will fit the gap for med-heavy oil
MY drilling is the pin is above and between the bridge and the cg kick out to the right with a balance hole. The RAD is next to the thumb hole about 2inch to the right. Great ball reaction on med-heavy

I would agree with bolt...it may seem strange to some, but I have also found , as a general rule, placing the pin above (usually ring finger) gives me the best overall action and allows for a 'missed' area that helps me.
This may not be the case for everyone, but it's a place to start when drilling a new ball that you are not sure what you want or how it will react to your style.
