Ball selection
« on: November 02, 2007, 01:49:07 AM »
I am trying to decide on a few good balls to get. I like to play down the boards like straight down the third arrow maybe with a slight swing, then have a nice perdictable move on the backends. I just dont want a ball that will react to early or to eratic. I would like one ball that has a smooth predictable move and one thats skid snap. Looking to cover medium to medium heavy. What balls would you suggest most? I do not care what brand they are. I throw about 16 mphs with medium revs with a lot of forward roll. I tried a black widow and did not like it at all. I currently have turbo diesel and like it a lot but it is dying

Thanks

I also wonder if the Agent would be a good choice.

For a firm, controllable arc I would recommend the Big Kahuna by Lanemasters/Legends.  For skid-snap I would recommend the Temper by Track.  Since you throw down-and-in I would recommend that you drill them both to go long (typically pin above ring and cg kicked out slightly.)

Yeah...those are good STORM balls..

I think if you drilled the Shift to go long this ball would be great.  You wouldn't have to change balls in game 2 or 3 maybe just your line a little if any depending on how much axis tilt you put on the ball.  If you put too much tilt any ball can hook sooner than you want.  You can play around with hand releases, lines & speed to see what works best for you.  But the Shift leaves no prisoners when it hits the 1-3 pocket.  It's a high end polished pearl particle so it will give you that backend all the way through w/out losing any energy.  Costs more than the T-road, but should be in line w/the agent pricewise.  Either way, I'd go w/Storm products over any.  Good luck!
