3" pin Special Agent

My special agent came with a 3.5" pin. I usually have my equipment drilled stacked. Since I bought the ball for Nationals, will the longer pin cause the ball to go too long and nullify the reaction I'm looking for? How much longer would a 3.5" pin go compared to a 2" pin?

There's nothing about a stacked layout that says where the pin has to go relative to the midline or fingerline.  If the top weight isn't too high, there's no reason you can't put the pin below the fingerline and possibly use a weight hole to make the ball legal.

My Special has a 4" pin and it doesn't go too long. I have it drilled pin below ring with the cg kicked straight off the thumb on my VAL with a large x-hole in the thumb quadrant. It reads the midlane great and hooks the most out of any of the balls I'm currently throwing. It also worked well at Nationals.

Ask your pro shop for advice. If you have a good pro shop there's no reason not to get the reaction you're looking for.

You are drilling it stacked leverage and you are worried about it going too long??? Do you have any hand in the ball at all?? That drill starts up off the hand.

Ended up drilling the special with the pin at about a 2:00 position just above and to the right of my ring finger with the cg at 90 degrees. The reaction was exactly what I was hoping for. It's a few feet earlier than my Shift and covers about 5 more boards. But , the most impressive thing about the Special is it's continuation thru the pins. By far the hardest hitting ball I've ever owned. So, that completes my arsenal for the upcoming State and Nationals with the Special for the slick stuff, the Shift for med. and a polished dark thunder if they get too dry. Thx for all the kind words. I guess I was a little nervous since I knew I only had one shot at getting the right ball with the right reaction. OH, please don't tell my wife I bought another ball or that I have no hand.
