Alpha Crux in 2023
« on: March 10, 2023, 08:34:48 AM »
Hey all .. I was just gifted a very clean single drill Alpha Crux.  In today's SPI lineup, what would it be comparable to?  I've seen them go down the lane and appear to be VERY smooth for an asymm ball. ..almost like sym balls going down the lane to me....

I would assume strengthwise it would be less than the NEX covers and more than the REX covers.

 what are you're thoughts?

IMO, it would probably be weaker than a Reality and close to the RST line in terms of strength.  The RST line does not have a true solid.  But as far as strength is concerned, I feel it would fall in that area.  Stronger than the Phazes but weaker than the Realitys.

I think it is very close to the new DNA.  The DNA is early but not super strong in the front part of the lane and is smooth and continuous.

Cover-wise, the best comparison is the Phaze 2 since that's still in the lineup.

Storm had the GI-16 cover (Alpha) just above the TX-16 cover (P2). As mentioned, the DNA fits much of the same mold that the Alpha did, however the cover according to Storm is their strongest ever
