Anarchy
« on: February 11, 2012, 12:27:28 PM »
Greetings,
For those who throw/threw the Anarchy please tell me your thoughts on it. I'm a Roto-Grip guy and just recently I got the Virtual Gravity Nano and I was thinking about trying a STORM pearl to go under it.

I've read some of the VGNano pearl threads and some were speaking kinda negatively about it and so after doing a STORM search on what current pearls they are offering I seem to like the Anarchy. Is the Anarchy really a heavy oil ball or is that just a sales pitch?

And for those that do use this ball after the Virtual Gravity Nano needs to be put away how do you have it drilled for opening up the lanes? Thx, Jake

I have had my Anarchy for over a year, and it is a little more condition specific than I like.  However, I have found that it will work on some heavier volumes of oil.  It does tend to read a little more in the midlane than some other pearls and has a heavy rolling core.  At one house near me, it outperforms my 919C and Vital Energy which are both medium-heavy balls by giving that little extra backend on the house shot.

Only criticism of it is the Anarchy can sometimes die out quicker than I would like, causing me to leave some solid 5's and other similar leaves.  This can also happen if you are playing some more extreme angles.  Because it is more condition specific, I find myself using my 919C and Vital Energy combo more as I can work on a wider range of conditions.   I also notice that those 2 balls keep energy better for the backend.

If you want the Anarchy, you may want to get it soon as it was just discontinued from Storm this past week since the Vivid is replacing it.  It's a nice piece and I do like using it from time to time, especially with some heavier or longer volume sport shots.  You may not be able to use it as often as you'd like on the house shots.

As far as the Anarchy is concerned... I've never really seen it as a ball used to open up the lanes, as the poster above me said the Anarchy has a heavier rolling core and liked the ball on the heavier and/or longer patterns as he could probably play a tighter shot and have more predictability because of the core/cover combination.

I think for a ball to go under a Nano when you need to put it away could be something from the Marvel series, either a Marvel Pearl or the new Modern Marvel (hybrid) with some polish. I havent heard anything negative at all about either ball and in my opinion, they seem to fit the bill of what you want a little more than the Anarchy

You would be correct in that I have to play tighter with the Anarchy to keep it predictable.

Basic difference between the Anarchy and the VGNP is that the Anarchy rolls earlier and therefore a little less angular. It all depends on what you are looking for.

Tommy,

Are you sure about the Vivid replacing the Anarchy?
I ask because the Vivid is solid (using the Nano's solid coverstock) and finished to 2000 grit dull,
while the Anarchy was a pearl and was highly polished.
It does not seem like that was Storm's intention.

Just traded my Anarchy to my brother yesterday. Love the ball on drier conditions to open things up but other than that I never found mush use for it. Too much ball to play the track as they transition, too little to make a predictable move on fresher patterns. I worked it up and down the spectrum of surfaces with some better results at 3000A but it never got to be a mainstay.

I had the anarchy, and I had to get rid of it because it was too over under on the backends...BUT here's my recommendation....I own 2 infinite theories I'm not 100% sure if already have one big Jake but this ball works for me as "the pearl" in my bag at 99% of the time.  It is the same cover concept as the virtual energy, one part solid, two parts pearl with polish.  Lol and the sad thing is I haven't bothered to even try other pearls since it first came out....it pretty much owns its spot in the bag...try it...you won't be disappointed!

My brother got one used and it hasn't left his bag. He swears by it. I have yet to throw it much but maybe I will.

I have bothe the anarchy and the nano pearl the anarchy is earlier but covers the same amount of boards the pearl seems to hit a little better for me because the energy held till the later part of the lanes. Both my anarchy and the pearl are drilled the same stacked leverage and are about 5 less than my nano solid. I also have a marvel pearl which is stronger than my nano pearl and anarchy about 2-3 boards stronger and its all on the back end. The pearl is my go to ball though is is consistant and predictable and gave me a 299 and a 300 this year hit and carry is amazing. just my .02

+ 1 on the Anarchy as a benchmark.  I make all my ball changes based on its reaction.  The only thing that I've had a problem with my Anarchy is carry down.  The minute the heads start to push, it looses traction.  That's when I switch to my polished VG.  It is def. my go to ball.

Big Jake,

what kind of layout did you wind up putting on your Nano Pearl, and what kind of reaction are you getting out of it on fresh synthetics?
