Title: Any Trauma Recovery users?
Post by: johns811 on December 04, 2003, 09:30:44 PM
Picked up one these on Ebay. Looks cool smells good too. Thinking about having it drilled 4 1/4" strong. Looking for something a stronger then reactive but not as much ball as my Silencer.

How does this ball deal with the carry down on your THS.

Any info appreciated, feel free to message me.

I have one, don't use it much, Needs a good amount of oil. Not  alot of backend movement, more sort of a steady arc. Not a bad ball, just not great. Don't even try it unless you have a healthy supply of oil.

John,

I found this ball wierd, very wierd.  If I kept it in box condition it was too much off the dry and too little in the oil.  I shot one 700+ with it and the guy before me shot one good set with it.  It is now on its third drill and third owner.  I hope he has better luck with it than I did.

However, I did dull the ball up some.  I used the white scotchbrite which is around 1000 grit sand.  The ball came alive and was much better as a dull than shiny ball for me.  It handled carrydown well and I scored decent with it then.  With the cover dull, I could let it go and know what the ball was going to do without wondering.

A Storm rep had told me that it is best used sanded. Something about the coverstock didn't that when it was shiney didn't produced a desired reaction.

I can believe that, after I sanded the cover there was one spot (a brown part in the coloring about 4" by 4") that wouldn't polish back up.  It was like throwing a half polished and half dull ball.  really wierd............
