Title: Anyone got any ideas?
Post by: andy257 on August 19, 2005, 04:15:27 AM
Hi

I'm looking for a medium oil ball that hits hard and has a good strong backend to help compensate for my lower rev rate. Not sure I want a particle ball, unless anyone thinks it could be a good move.

My profile shows as much information as I can give at the moment.....I'm not exactly an expert!

Thanks

The Original Inferno is an ideal medium oil ball, just drill it up a little late, and don't give it that weak of a drilling.

I have to agree with Mike on the Fired Up.
Don't really agree on the drill though, since by Andy's own addmission he doesn't get many revs on the ball so he will need some help on the backend.
I see how that drill could work for you Mike but you aren't a low rev bowler.

My recommendation would be:
Fired Up 3.5-4" pin and 2.5-3oz top
Place the pin 3" above grip center and 4" from PAP with the CG kicked out toward PAP 1/2", place the balance hole on your VAL and 6" from the pin. This will this allows the balance hole to work in conjunction with the thumb hole to create a larger mass bias which will increase the backend reaction.
