Something Earlier Than My Hy-Road
« on: December 30, 2010, 05:42:49 AM »
Right now my arsenal is a Hy-Road, VE, and a cell pearl.  I'm thinking of adding a stronger solid that wil give me a more predictable, earleir roll.  I'm thinking of a ROF, but would like any thoughts and feedback from everyone out there.  I wouldnt be adverse to something outside of Storm/Roto, but that is what Im most comfortable with right now.

Virtual Gravity all the way.  Great ball.  Turns the corner and starts a lot earlier than the VE.  Hits like of bricks!

Balls in the bag and order they come out:
#1- Virtual Energy
#2- Invasion
#3- Virtual Gravity
#4- Gravity Shift
#5- Big Hit (spare and really dry)
#6- Teal Rhino Pro (oldie but a goodie)

Even a Prodigy or the upcoming Marvel will be good compliments to what you have now.

Chris,

Where does this new ball have to fit in your arsenal?
What type/amount of oil does it have to handle?

I mean, do you need a ball to handle drier conditions that provide too much backend
(2Furious is a possiblity here)
or
do you need to handle more oil for a less flippy and more controllable breakpoint?
(VG or a ROF is a possibility here)

Charlest, I'd say I need something to handle more oil but be more controllable off the point than what I have in the bag currently.  I was thinking the ROF would fit what I need, also thinking about the Taboo...

I'd say the Taboo was more like a stronger Virtual Gravity. It's kind of at the top of the food chain of bowling balls right now - a maximum oiler. Do you need that much ball? I don't know, again. If that type of ball is what you need, then you're open for a whole range of super balls, like the Theory, Anarchy, 715T, World Beater, Mania, Bank, etc.
