Hyroad - Sanded
« on: April 04, 2013, 12:10:57 PM »
Anyone have any experience throwing the Hyroad with either the polish taken off or sanded? I recently purchased one and have had some great matches/games with it being polished, but I am now noticing that it is squirting a bit down lane on certain nights. I am wondering if sanding it down will be a good option to get a stronger, more even roll out of it to blend that over/under.

I had mine polished for the first 25-30 games or so and loved it... It started fading a bit on me and overlapping with other equipment when it lost some out of box strength so I put it to 2000 and shot 770 my first set with it dull. Haven't polished it back up since. It's the most versatile cover out there IMO, don't be afraid to change it.

I sanded mine with 3000, great motion on midlane and not to jumpy at the break point.

I lightly sanded mine. It has a lot more teeth now than it did before. But in my opinion, this coverstock change will allow to play with it more for medium heavy like when it first came out. With polish it becomes an even arcing medium oil ball.
