DIFFERENT balls for DIFFERENT purposes.
XTreme is for medium-heavy to heavy-ish oil.
Triple-X is for medium to medium-heavy oil, dependign on your hand and drilling.
SInce the Triple-X is a polished pearl, it will handle less oil than the XTreme, a dull solid ball. It will clear the heads better than the Xtreme and will have a more pronounced backend that the XTreme.
The XTreme is meant for heavier oil patterns than the Triple X. WHen you are using it on the right amount of oil, it will hook when the Triple-X will skid too long. When there's not enough oil for the XTreme, that's when you can change to the Triple X and get length and hook. Hitting power will also tell you when there's the right amount of oil for each ball. Weak tens and small hook can mean there's too much oil for the Triple X - time ot change to the XTreme.
This i s, of course, with each ball's surface left in out-of-box condition:
Triple-X - 1500 grit polished; XTreme - 800 grit dull.
