R3S hybrid
« on: April 23, 2014, 04:26:23 PM »
I bought my 1st Storm ball in a very long time, a Virtual World, which is an R3S hybrid cover with a Gravity core. Any idea how strong the cover is, Im guessing its basically a slightly stronger VE. Ive heard R2S is comparative to S70 form 900g, which is one of my favorite covers. Any advice before I lay it out? Approx 300rpm, 6* tilt, can vary my rotation quite a bit, and ball speed from 14-18 at the pins depending on how I hold my wrist. 5 3/4 over 1 up pap. I usually do best with asyms over the ring or bridge, with psa .5 to 3 inches from the thumb.

I cant recall any stateside release that used an r3s cover.  This is basically an international version of the Virtual Energy.  I cant see there being a drastic difference.  The ball motion will be identical due to the core.  It might be a couple boards difference in overall hook one way or another.  Easily fixed with surface adj. or hand position.

That's pretty much what I expected. I didn't have a VE but seen a few thrown that I can compare my roll to. Thanks. Anyone else feel free to chime in.

R3S was never used in the states that I'm aware of.  Only 2 balls that ever used an R3 cover were the Invasion and Anarchy (R3X solid/R3X pearl).
