Nice.  That's a lot of Hy-Roads & VGs there, LoL.  Must be good balls.

Hi Jeff..

What does your 6 1/2" Dimension with the X-hole above your PAP do for you? I see you've got a couple of balls with longer pin-pap distances with the same X-hole placement..

Another thing is your Hy-Road with the 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 and X-hole 3" down your pap.. How does that roll for you? And which patterns have you thrown it on? Seems like a pretty strong layout for you..

Longer pins always help create length, then I use surface adjustments to bring the breakpoint back to me. Its very hard for me to use stronger pins, due to the lack of volume that we use on Tour.

The 3 1/2" pin Hy-Road was an experiment that I think we did in Wichita to combat they extremely "fricticious" ( thats my word by the way, if you use it you owe me $.25 ) surface / pattern. It's not something I would normally do, but it does allow me to get the ball to slow down at the back of the pattern.

Are you going to build an entire arsenal out of plastic now??

Congrats on your title, BTW....

whats the point of the two plastics?

Thanks for the info.. Always curious to hear what you guys on tour are throwing and why..

Still seems extreme to go with such long pin distances and then top it off with an X-hole up there.. Must really be some low volume patterns..
Def something i'll have to try out..

Again thanks..

And congrats and best of luck to you all the way from Denmark..

The drillings on the 2 plastic balls weren't the biggest difference...that was a minor change, but the surface changes were huge

ok why do u have 2 hy-roads drilled the same just difference in surface. is that a layout you would have to constantly change surface on so u just drilled two.

What does the little "p" over the cg mark on a couple of the Hy-Roads mean?  Are those all pearl Hy-Roads by any chance?

Probably means PRO.

An all pearl Hy-Road is a T-Road pearl, wouldn't make a ton of sense.(we are talking about bowling though)

Looks to me like something they added after drilling. Maybe its some sort of identification for Jeff himself.

Jeff that is an awesome arsenal of balls you have. Thanks for sharing the photo with us.

After watching you win the Geico Plastic Ball Championship in Wheat Ridge Colorado I think all you really need are the two balls at the bottom of the photo. That tournament was the most chilling exhibition of bowling skills I have ever seen. Congratulations on a well deserved win.

After reading your response to SKC’s question on the Storm Dimension, it got me thinking.

Quote “Longer pins always help create length and then I use surface adjustments to bring the breakpoint back to me. It’s very hard for me to use stronger pins, due to the lack of volume that we use on Tour.”

80% of us house bowlers should take heed of that answer. I have screwed myself with strong drillings on many occasions. I don’t have the ball speed and don’t normally face a long heavy volume of oil to support super strong drillings. Even on the sport patterns the Shark is the only real problem child.

I think a lot of bowlers that buy these hook monster balls then drill then 3-3/8 x 3-3/8, take them the lanes just knowing they are going to tear it up. What a disappointment when the ball turns left and runs out of gas 30 feet past the arrows.

Again Jeff, great bowling and excellent advice.

Did anyone else notice that the second ball of Jeff's 2nd Dimensions is a very odd blue color?  I would like to get my hands on one with that coloring.

This might sound like a stupid question but do you really 49 different strike balls? Doesn't it ever get confusing with so many similar balls with similar drillings? I've been trying to limit my equipment because stuff overlaps. And that is with 6 balls!!!

I've seen a few of those, and a few of the "regular" colored ones. All the ones with the blue in them have the blue instead of the green and were in the first batch that the shops got, after that I haven't seen any of them come in. This is just my local area though, but I think they just updated the colors on it after the first batch.

The Second Dimensions are just color blems...not a big deal

The Hy-Roads with a "p" simply mean they've been polished with Reacta-Shine...and i usually use them when playing straighter.

As for why so many balls ? because when you bowl on 5 different regular patterns that play different in each center as well as each round, you have to be able to make the most minor changes..and sometimes it starts with the same ball with a subtle difference
