Arsenal too big--Lengthy
« on: November 11, 2006, 02:36:28 AM »
My average has went down significantly in the last two years and I have attributed it to getting more bowling knowledge.  Back when I had my ebonite xxcel as my only ball, I was a 225-230 bowler.  Just good enough to get my head big and try some pba regionals.  I have studied layouts and ball dynamics the last two years, bought a used pro shop that I have in the basement and probably drilled 100 balls for myself at least.  I showed up every bowling night with a different set of 6 balls that were supposed to work for the condition and when I didn't throw a strike, I switched to the "right" ball.  Without any consistency of equipment, I went from 230 down to 210 in two years.  I have made up my mind that I am just using a domination and agent for the rest of the year.  I may pick up a thunderstruck pearl for fried lanes.  I will adjust with the balls on the lane and blame "nonstrikes" on my and not the ball.  I hope get closer to my average from 2 years ago with this plan.  Anyone else go through want I'm going through?

i think too much variety causes bad decisions some times.
i try and adjust 2 or 3 times before i make a switch, and
sometimes i just let it ride and switch next game.  mostly
depends on how the ball is reading the lanes.  i have
done the same as u though.  i only throw my Red Zone,
Delta 1, and Action Max.  and when they're fried my Storm Razor Wire.
mostly the Red Zone and Delta 1.  but good luck in you quest.

I was like that too for a while......

But my current "arsonel" is a spirit and a silver streak pearl and im carrying a 215 average.

Its not the equipment as much as it is the user.
