I'll never understand ball companies. Same ball motion, different ball. Couldn't just keep the Alpha in the line and let the name sell it?

There was a legal issue with the Alpha I believe, I don't think they wanted to discontinue it when they did.  They are however one of the only, if not the only company that has kept balls around for a while, IQ Tour is almost 6, Hyroad Pearl is almost 5, and of course the OG Hyroad . . Motiv is keeping the Venom Shock around which is a good move too, and Global is doing the vintage rerelease stuff now, I like that much better than issuing remakes . .

what do you mean?  the time a ball spends in the "active" line up for sale?  the life of the ball in use after purchase?  both?

The time spent with ball a in the line up. Doesn't matter if ball b is the same ball, it's a different name. It makes it hard for the pro shop industry to actually stock what's new and hot!

All of these posts and no mention of how much a THS blends the reaction 8/10 reactive resin balls. Especially when it flares a lot and you pitch it to the dry.

The alpha makes an earlier, some would say "arcy" move off the spot, code X had a more defined flip...

Although they are very very close, I wonder what the strength difference is on oil...
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

I can't imagine the blowback if EBI or Brunswick would have put out a video showing the same reaction of their oiler from last year, reacting the same as their new ball with a ten year old cover on it.

I think one benefit of the Code X may come once you get like 50 or so games on it and eventually get that R2S lane shine that mellows the overall strength of the ball and it becomes more smooth through the midlane and useable over an entire tournament block where a ball like the Alpha Crux will most likely make you ball down after the midlanes get blown up by surface.

A lot of balls look similar on a house shot. Let's see it on some different conditions. Not saying they aren't close, but a house shot test does not prove anything.
