Are there a lot of people throwing the lesser priced Storms in other areas??? I know around here I hardly if ever see them. Was allways curious myself.

I personally have an Atomic Charge.  Have it drilled pin under ring finger, and cg at about 4:30...small weight hole.  Pin is about 2-3".   I tried it with the box finish, and wasn't to impressed.  Ball actually had a little over under.  I hit it with a very light coat of magic shine, and that really brought the ball out.  Very strong rolling, and currently the biggest hooking ball I throw.  Much more consistent now with the polish on it, and it is always the first ball out of my bag.  Hitting power is excellent, I am very impressed and happy with this ball.  Hope this helps.

I have thrown both the Recharge and the Atomic Charge, and the Atomic is FAR stronger than my Recharge.  Both with similiar drillings.  Hope this helps.

Mike,

I know whats out their just getting reaction data and cover strength comparisons. Outside of the X factor series no one throws Storm in the local houses.

I just picked up the Atomic Charge...Very strong ball on medium conditions.
Drilled pin just right and below the ring finger at 4" from my PAP with the MB in the strong position.  It's right on the edge of legal side weight...will be putting a balance hole in before Nationals...just to be on the safe side.  This ball is definitely not a ball to start with, with clean backend you will have a hard time keeping it off the nose.  This ball shines in the later innings when the heads are chopped up and there is some carry-down.  It gets through the heads clean, rolls up nice in the mid-lane and walks right through the carry-down.  I mainly use mine in Sport league and later in tournaments when my other balls are going to long due to carry-down.  This ball likes to be rolled if you get a little over zealous with the hand it will stand up too early and go right through the heart.

For most of the average league bowlers, I personally don't think there is enough justification to by the high end Storm balls.  When asked, I tend to push people toward the mid or even low end Storm balls.  For a slower speed bowler, with any hand at all, the balls in the Hot line are hard to beat.

Having both the Atomic and Recharge I would have to say the hit is very similiar but even with some shine the Atomic is nowhere near as clean through the fronts as the Recharge nor is it as snappy as the Recharge.
I have had it both dull out of box and shiny and really love it both ways!!!

I am drilling another one pin up and shining it so I can use the pin down version on a fresher heavier volume oil pattern. The surface will help control the backend snap for me then as it carries down or the heads burn a bit I can go to a pearl or the shiny one.

This ball is a very good all around ball for most people without the big hit to the wallet!

Overall I really never go anywhere without this ball, its that good!

Any other more specific questions just shoot me an IM or email.
