Ralph Solan with Storm swung through town a few weeks ago and I stopped by for a few hours to look at some of the new Storm and Roto-Grip gear. As I'm a lefty he didn't have much stuff available for me to throw, but he did have a Street Rod and Street Rod Pearl. When he handed me the Street Rod I didn't look at it closely and assumed it was a Cell as the coloring is similar. I threw it on a lane that had a long, heavy shot laid down. The ball made a very strong move to the pocket, just as I expected because all that I've heard about the Cell. Imagine my surprise when he told me that it was the Street Rod. Although I didn't get to throw the Cell as a comparison, the Street Rod was stronger than the Terminator and Black Widow that I brought with me. The Street Rod Pearl was also much stronger than I anticipated, moving as many boards as the Street Rod with just a longer, more angular move.
I am a stroker with lower ball speed so I can't promise that these balls will move as well for you in heavy oil, but I can attest that they both had a stronger move and covered more boards than the Terminator and Black Widow. I was really impressed with these latest releases by Storm. Great job!
BTW - Ralph Solan is a heck of a guy. Don't hesitate to go meet him if he comes through your area. He gave me a great timing tip that has helped my overall game significantly. Thanks again Ralph!
