Axiom Pearl vs Marvel Pearl
« on: October 26, 2020, 11:46:17 AM »
I am a back-n-forth battle between getting an Axiom Pearl.  On one hand, I get to watch a teammate absolutely destroying the lanes with his (however our games are completely different) and on the other, I have already have 2 Marvel Pearls drilled up with a couple more NIB on the shelf.

As much as I would like a new ball, is there that much difference between them to justify scratching that itch?

To me - it’s the same shape. Difference is the Axiom Pearl cover can handle more oil than the R2X Marvel Pearl cover.

The axiom Pearl today is what the marvel Pearl was in its hey day. Axiom Pearl is at LEAST an arrow stronger.

Another teammate bought one and I got to see him throw it last night (his game is closer to mine) and it was pretty impressive...not as impressive as the other teammate though.  I am thinking I might pick one up and put it next the Marvel Pearls on the shelf.

Thank you everyone for your input.

I have a Marvel Pearl. It's not a ball that makes a serious left turn when it gets to the dry boards or backend. It's quite controllable and smooth on the backend. Just got the Axiom Pearl and it's cover really gives it reaction on especially on the backend. It's not necessarily serious left turn either though, but well defined and not nearly as smooth. I was looking for a ball with more backend than the Hy-Road and Hy-Road Pearl. The Axiom accomplishes what I thought I was looking for and am glad I have it in the bag.

Agreed - AxP is also a bit more decisive at the breakpoint than the MP. Nothing dramatically different, but noticeable.

Well I broke down and bought an Axiom Pearl...but didn't punch holes in it; kept it NIB and put it next to the NIB Marvel Pearls on the shelf.
