Storm sponsored Morehead State University Starts Season Off with a Win
The First Annual, Thomas N. Burris Memorial Kentucky Collegiate Team Classic was held September 27th at Eastland Lanes in Lexington, KY. The tournament welcomed all Kentucky Collegiate Teams and had a total of 16 men’s teams with 8 different schools. The tournament was to raise money for the Burris family, as well as for schools to come together and compete in their first tournament to kick off their season. The tournament raised over one thousand dollars for the Burris Family!
The TB Memorial Classic consisted of 5 team games and 16 baker games. Morehead State kept a comfortable and steady lead throughout the whole tournament from the first team game to the last baker game of the day. Not only did Morehead State have two teams in the top 5 of the tournament, but also had several bowlers make All Tournament Team.
The teams finishing behind the tournament champion, Morehead State, were Pikeville College, Bellarmine University, Morehead State, and Pikeville College. The All Tournament Team consisted of the top five finishers. They were Adam Voth of Morehead, Jesse Hawkins of Pikeville, Jeremy King of Pikeville, Michael Whitt of Morehead, and rounding out the top five was Mike Johnson of Morehead.
Morehead could not have started their season off any better than they did at the tournament in memoriam of Thomas. The equipment and support given by Storm truly aided their success both as a team as well as individuals. The members of the Morehead State team are determined to take full advantage of the opportunities provided to them and continue their successful ways throughout the rest of their season.
