Vertigo for heavier oil and Diablo for medium oil. I've got both and each has its place.
If you don't have enough oil, the Vert will roll out on you (in "box condition"...800 grit/dull) and not move very much...probably the reason you see so many people say their Vert has "died", it hasn't "died" they just don't have enough oil to use it or they haven't properly maintained the coverstock. You have to keep the cover maintained pretty well to get the best reaction out of it. If you are the type that never cleans your ball, don't bother getting the Vert. After every set, I clean my Vert with ReactaClean and after 10 games or so, I dull the cover with gray scotchbrite by hand (it doesn't take much pressure to do this).
The Diablo is KILLER on a medium oil shot. The cover of the Diablo does not need as much maintenance as the cover of the Vert. Just clean it after every set with ReactaClean and it will be fine. But if you really want to get the Vertigo, it will do fine on medium oil as well IF you take it to 1200 grit with polish.

That which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger, that which doesn't make you stronger is a waste of time!
