Ball help
« on: November 09, 2006, 07:00:42 AM »
I'm looking for a little help, maybe you could provide it. I'm looking for a ball for oil but not heavy oil. Here's what I mean.

I currently have a DBL Agent - Stacked leverage for heavy oil.
I also have a Big One, Domination, Paradigm, Agent, Pyro, and Pearl Jolt.

The Big One works on fresh oil, but isn't hitting the heads the way I would like. The Domination I love, but too much oil it's not working as well. And the rest fall down the line accordingly.

I'm thinking about an Angular One, No Mercy, or ?????

I know I'm on the Storm site, but I don't know what I could plug in from Storm that would work out here.

Thoughts?

One more thing I do not mix well with the Passion. I had one and got rid of it.

If you like Hammer, you could also consider a Black Widow.  If you're looking at Storm, you already have an Agent which would be my recommendation.  Otherwise, you could try an Epic or a Horizon Solid (if you can find one right now) from Roto Grip.

It's funny that you own the ball you are looking for, Pyro. That ball takes well to surface adjustments. Try changing the surface before taking on another $160+ ball.

There is no magic ball, just good fundamentals...

I'm not a fan of surface adjustments. Never have been. Everytime I have tried the ball ends up worse for wear. Ex. Passion Had it polished, tried it box, tried a little rougher, and the ball never was what I wanted.  I added it to the donate to a friend list.

As for my Pyro, works well on medium sport shot (not short oil, but not a 40+ oil either. I want something a little more than that. The Black Widow sounds interesting, but after reading the Special Agent review, maybe I will wait for that.

Here's a pic of my Pyro so you can see the layout.
