IQ Tour 30 vs IQ Tour Solid
« on: November 25, 2015, 11:19:32 AM »
After reading the initial impressions of the new IQ 30, it sound like it will be very much like the original solid?  If you have both balls drilled the same with their box surfaces, are you really going to see a big difference?  Everyone is saying is stronger than the gold ball??

Also how will the IQ 30 stand up to the Punch Out?

Thanks.

Looking at the numbers the IQ30 and the IQ Pearl Gold have the same exact specs:

c3 centripetal control core
r2s pearl reactive
1500 grit polished
2.49 RG and .035 diff

The IQTour Solid offers the same core but the rs2 solid cover.  The Punch out uses the turbine core, so i'd assume it will be a tad weaker in overall reaction.

I guess if you believe that color makes a difference in reaction the 30 will be different from the gold pearl.  Seems to me Storm products just puts a different color and name on most of their products these days and use the same core/cover combo's.  Some would argue that if it ain't broke don't fix it, but in my pro shop people have noticed the trend and swayed away from Storm balls.  The people who are company loyal are going more with Roto Grip and the others are going to the Brunswick brands.

I'm picking my Tour 30 up tonight.  I do honestly expect it to be a bit stronger but that moreso being a fresh cover.

I will update after 3-4 weeks of use and across a few lane surfaces.
