Attitude shift
« on: January 01, 2008, 04:30:44 AM »
Is the attitude shift a good ball for heavy oil and house shots.

I'm thirteen and been bowling for three years with a 160 average. I have a ball speed of 16-19mph and high revs. Would the attitude shift be a good choice for me? Any replies will be appreciated.

How heavy is your Beat'n, JRC?  That's a pretty new ball; are you sure you need a heavier one?  You might want to focus on slowing it down, becoming more consistent, and mastering basics.  A coach is a great thing - I hired my coach about a year ago and he has brought me to new levels of bowling I never knew before.  I think that's a good idea.

I'm 14.  When I signed onto ballreivews (about 8 months ago), I thought it was all about my equipment, but I quickly learned that it wasn't.  There's much more to be learned about technique than there is to learn about technology.  It's interesting and all, but you can only go so far with a new ball.  I think you can go a lot further with what you own now that even you think you can, trust me.  Unless you're flat out chucking your No Mercy, you might not need to change weight.  I also feel that if you are using a No Mercy for day to day leagues, you don't have "high revs," because that ball is too strong.  Once again, JRC, you should learn about becoming consistent with your revs and speed rather than buying a stronger ball, because you can only get so far.  Look into a weaker ball with a symmetrical core (if anything), heavier if need be.

I hope this helps.  Consider a coach - and remember that nothing will beat practice.

I'm turning 14 soon and i just signed on to ballreviews. I was asking about the attitude shift for the future. right now my 13lb nmb is doing great. I practice 1-2 times a week and do one league. I do have high revs so i have to play a deep angle to the pocket. I do have a couch that i see when i bowl my league because one of his kids bowls on the same league. He gives me good advice when he can because hes really busy. Thanks spinner for the good advice.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Yikes, an innocent question gone crazy. I remember when I was 13, I was horrendous But way to go JRC, 160 avg. is great and I hope you keep on climbin the ladder! As for the Attitude Shift I can't say a thing about it really. I've only seen one in action, and it was very very jumpy. It made a hard move when it did hook and the guy had trouble controlling it for the first half of the night. Then I stopped watching. But I hope your ball choice goes well and I hope you bowl up a Storm

i just got an attitude shift and it is a monster in oil but this ball might be to much for you especially since you said you had a high rev rate. i have a medium rev rate and i have a hard time keeping it on the right side of the head pin. just try to make your spares and use your plastic ball for all your spares and your average will go up at least 10-15 pins if you can make all your spares. good luck kid
