Don't you just hate those days.
« on: April 14, 2007, 04:34:37 AM »
I did extremely horrible the first two games. My Secret Agent was too polished up, it was too heavy for the Agent, and I wouldn't near throw my T-Road Pearl.

152 - 182 - 266 = 600 Even.

Finally decided after the second, that I was doing awful, and went to the pro shop - threw a 4000 grit on the Special Agent, and wham, 266 next game. The ball was flat out amazing.

I'm not too sure how I feel about all this. I understand that "rules were broken," but it is only league play and not matchplay during a televised event. I think I'd rather someone alter their surface rather than take steroids to bowl better against me personally. Or beer instead of steroids. But what's the difference between altering the surface of one ball or switching to another ball? I don't really see one, because either way the bowler is helping out their game. I think that's a silly rule.

The difference is he didn't have a more dull ball to switch to.  So instead of adjusting and finding the proper line, hand position, etc., he took the easy way and broke the rules.  It's youth, no one knows the rules.  Just don't think you will EVER get away with it anywhere else.

Taking the easy way out, huh? What 15 year old kid do you know that hits his ball with a 4000 grit abralon?

On a side note here, shot 959 for four games today - Using the Special Agent and the Agent.

First Two Games - Special Agent
276 - 245 = 521

Last TWO Games - Agent
224 - 214 = 438

Not a bad day, was hot the first two games, but the last game was just split city.

Taking the easy way out, yes indeed.  Instead of doing it the right way, and PHYSICALLY adjusting YOURSELF to the lanes, you have proven that more often that not, modern bowlers cannot physically adjust as much as just change balls and play the same shot.

I am not much older that you.  So don't go off in that direction.

Do yourself a favor.  Read the rulebook.  Read the League Bylaws book.  Read all of them. Read the Equipment Specifications.  So from now on, you know what you can and cannot do, by rule.  Once you start on bad habits, it is hard to break them.

You have proven yourself to be a product of the modern game, where ignorance reigns supreme.

Take a look at the following link to find out what cleaners are acceptable during competition... http://www.bowl.com/specs/ballCleaner.aspx
Acceptable/Non-Acceptable Ball Cleaners

if you plan on advancing to tournament play, or if you want to just feel better about yourself because you play by the rules, you really ought to KNOW the rules. If you don't care, then EXPECT to get busted for it down the road.

Now you have a choice....

It's the first time I have ever done it, and probably the last. Like I had said, you people take the game so serious. I do not consider this cheating, I consider cheating as having a device making you strike every time. Sanding a ball does not help you get advantage of something, it helps the bowler level the reaction he wants to get.

You know that it doesn't matter what you consider cheating.  You violated the rules, therefore you cheated.  Sanding the ball does give you an advantage if you do it once you have started using that ball in competition that day.  You would be able to basically choose the kind the reaction you wanted on those lanes, and give yourself an unfair advantage.

If its in the rule book....follow it...not what you think is right or wrong.  You're lucky that you weren't caught, or that 266 would have been thrown out.

Even though I sanded the ball to 4000 to knock the polish off of the ball, it still took me throwing and being accurate to score high.

I don't think you all would of gone so jurastic if I had scored low the 3rd game.

We wouldn't have known that you threw bad the last game, since I doubt you would have said anything on here about it.

We're all not trying to be jerks or bust you're balls.  There are rules for a reason, and if we can correct you now, then maybe you won't make the same mistake again, say, during a tournament, where you would have been called for it and it might cost your team or yourself points and money.

Yeah, I have basically learned my lesson. I made a mistake knocking the polish off of the ball, and came back to hit even.

No one even noticed the difference if I had hit them with something or not. I am not saying that its still not bad, but ey, whatever. Rules are rules, and I get them now.

And when the police catch me I'll just say Tha Crank gave me the idea and I'm sure they'll know who that 15 year old bowling god is and let me go. Oh and make sure you change the surface of your ball when you bowl your "Junior Masters in Ohio, and Junior Gold in Buffalo and the Pepsi Championships as well after Junior Gold".

LOL!  You're about a moron!    Nice comparison though.  So you say you are 15, huh, I wouldn't have expected any less.

Two weeks ago I went 127,267,245.  Now mind you it was my first league night after arthroscopic wrist surgery 6 weeks ago, but still it was pretty bewildering how I could be completely lost one game and totally on the next two.
