Ball down for IQ Tour Solid
« on: January 24, 2018, 07:31:10 PM »
Hello All,

Would you guys be able to recommend a complimentary ball down from the IQ Tour Solid. Love this ball on THS, even though its very rolly it doesn't really cover a lot of boards, controls the back ends very nicely for my rev dominate game. Right now i have zero options to step down from and when there's a lot of hand on the pair it would be nice to have an option.

My limited research has me pointed in a Hyroad, Marvel Pearl, or even at the new market Son!q direction. I wish I could find a 16 IQ Tour Pearl (goldy).

Some quick specs
Speed at breakpoint 16.5mph
Rev rate approx 450rpm
Low tilt, moderate axis rotation
PAP 5" left,  3/4 up
Just an unbiased bowling enthusiast trying too enjoy the game with each set.

Hustle Ink for sure. But I will add, the Hy-Road Pearl is a great ball to move to when you have to start opening the angles that the IQ Tour can't handle. Cleaner but more core to get it back. Son!Q sounds like another option to fill the spot the Hy-Road Pearl would be filling.

I like to have a stronger core when moving in deeper.  I would go Hyroad or Hyroad Pearl. Son!q might fit but I haven't seen one yet.

From Roto Grip perhaps the OG Dare Devil.

Thanks everyone! I don't know how I missed the Hustle Ink. This looks like the direction to move towards keeping the solid cover characteristics while giving it more push than the IQT. Shout out to Luke Rosdahl for his excellent youtube review & opinion of the ball.

Maybe I am the only one who isn't impressed with the Hustle Ink.

If the goal is to stay in the same area, then the Ink may be a good choice. Not sure how successful you would be moving in with it after the IQ Tour.

That is something I have noted as well. It'll 9 count on you if you get too deep and don't have the hand to make it shape properly. That's where something like the Hy-Road Pearl requires less effort for better carry from deep in my opinion.

It's too bad Roto Grip doesn't make the UpRoar anymore.  That ball felt like the perfect step down from the IQ Tour Solid.

The Hyroad Pearl may ultimately find it's way into my bag. I made the switch to 16lbs along with some pitch changes a while back and have been bouncing around fresh shot equipment until finding a great fit with the IQT. Basically don't have a lot of ball down options. I also have a Brunswick BTU Pearl that plays well on burn. Still quite a gap between the IQT and BTU Pearl though.
