The Big Hit Pearl has been reviewed 2 different times in BTM Mag. The first time was with the Teal/Purple about 2 years ago... and then about 5-6 months ago with the new colored Red/Blackish one.
But both reviews gave different numbers. Basically the Teal/Purple should be alot stronger than than the Red/Blackish one by what they said in their length, torque, backend, and oil handling capability ratings.
Are they not the same ball?

They are the same ball.
I have noticed the same thing with other older ball being listed stronger than current offerings when they are not.
I think that it is due to oils getting slicker and thicker.

I can't speak for stats, but I know from sales, people would rather have the Teal/Purple over the Red/Black. It may be the color, but all I know is the Teal sells, the Red not so much. Go figure.
