Help me out here guys. Is this a good ball? Anyone have good luck with it, and what's the carry like? I'm leaning towards this for dry lanes, and just want some feedback on it.

I used a Big Hit last year, have a Hybrid and a Razor Wire for this year. The Big Hit will go and do just what you want it to do. It won't have a lot of hook, unless you set it up to, but won't have a coast to coast hook, so if that's what you are looking for, IMO, this is not for you. If you want some hook, it will work.

Very clean early with mild backend. The hit is good on hooking lane surfaces. It's only good for dry, but it is very good on its condition.

What's the best drilling on this ball to have good backend for carry? My Power Groove, drilled pin above bridge, cg in the palm, just didn't hit hard and carry well. I'm afraid this will be the same way due to the similar core design.

These balls have a high rg to begin with, so a high rg drilling (such as pin over ring finger) will often hook to late. This can cause 7 or 10 pins on pocket hits. If you track high, just put the pin next to your ring finger. If you track lower, Place the pin at finger height or a little below about 4.5-5 inches from your pap. In terms of Cg placement, just use what works for you. I don't usually like cg out drillings, but many other bowlers do. The ball is weak to begin with. If you drill it weak it really won't do much at all. The Big Hit is MUCH milder than a Power Groove.

Thanks! That's what I'm was worried about. I thought about drilling it like my Ultimate Inferno. Pin next to ring finger, cg kicked out slightly. That way it can still finish, and have some power in the end. Thanks alot!

I have a BHP drilled 6 X 5.5 which is pin over the bridge and cg in grip center for me. It's a very interesting ball. The cover is very weak and will skid like crazy on any hint of oil, but for such a mild core it can make a pretty hard flip when it finds dry boards. This ball seems to work best for me when I can play pretty deep. Carry is generally decent, comparable to other dry lane balls that I have used.

I would recommend drilling it a little stronger than I did unless you have a lot of hand. If I had another one, I would put the pin 4 to 4.5 from PAP and kick the cg out to get almost an ounce of side weight. Then you can easily add a weight hole if you need to tweak the reaction a bit.
