big trouble with carry down

surface:  synthetic not sure of oil length or volume.  a small league mostly throwing plastic down the middle makes the shot very tight for me.  looking for something in the storm line to help combat this condition.  have aoob pin under ring rapid fire same on gravity shift and apin out of middle finger virtual energy.  throw about 16 mph respectable revs pap 5over 1/2 up. sorry so long any advice will be appreciated. thanks up front.

Reign of Fire will go through this condition with no problem. Ball hits like a mack truck and keeps the pins low.I feel the ball is much better than the Invasion at a lower cost. You won't be dissappointed.

Or if you like pearls better the Reign has no problem with carry down either, also hits like a Mack Truck, unbelievable carry with this ball.

I'll second the suggestion of a ROF. I got one early last week and scored well in league and in a tournament this weekend - all synthetic.

RoF in my experiences is better with carrydown then the Reign. Not that the Reign is a bad choice, cuz it's not but it's just not as good as the RoF.

i have been looking at hte rof as well as the invasion.  thinking about similar drill to my rapid fire.  seems to be a good drill for my game.  thanks all.

Reign of Fire is the way to go.

This ball ignores carrydown, and still HITS! Great ball for the price point. I watched several in action this weekend at a local tournament.

When other people's balls couldn't make the turn, and kept leaving buckets, this ball was just smashing the hole!

Put it away when you start leaving ten-pins, though!

use my 2d for ten pins it absoutly hates oil.  just a bad drill for me.

Is it likely that
a) If the original poster is using a polished, solid Rapid Fire, that it will handle carrydown better than a polished, skid/flip pearl, like the Reign?
b) If the original poster is using a polished Rapid Fire, that the super dull, super aggressive Reign of Fire might very well not make it through the heads to even get to the carrydown?

I am not saying this is the absolute truth and will happen. I am saying it is possible and may even be probable.

Often all that is needed is a slightly more agressive ball, like a 4000 grit Rapid Fire or lightly polished Dimension or some such.

I believe the answer to this question is, YES!

I have not seen this happen as yet, but I guess it is possible.

Invasion is THE strongest ball Storm makes, in terms of early roll and handling of oil.

I'd suggest, if you can afford to do this, touching up the RF with a grey Scotch Brite nylon pad, by hand, to remove about 30% of the shine (stock surface). This should enable it to handle the head oil you now have, but to hook slightly earlier to handle some or most of the carrydown. If you have Abralon or Siaair pads, use a P4000 grit pad, soaked in water, again by hand to remove some of the shine/gloss, to haze the surface, slightly.

It can alwayy]s be brought back to its stock surface.

If you want a new ball, the next strongest Storm balls is the Reign of Fire, BUT it needs to made much smoother than stock (P1000 grit Abralon, which would, in my opinion, be far too early), maybe as much as P4000 grit Abralon/Siaair. The Hy-Road is also a possibility, but it needs to go from its stock shine to P1500 or P2000 grit Abralon/Siaair, a rougher surface for an earlier roll.

The Invasion is just to eractic. Ball doesn't react the same shot after shot.

i forgot to mention i do not have to worry to much about head oil.  i have abad knee on sliding leg causes me to loft a lot.  but this does tend to give me more back end.  also wy i drill all my stuff pin under or out.
