Vivid weight block
« on: March 17, 2012, 08:09:01 PM »
Anyone notice anything familiar about the Vivid weight block.  My ball driller down here pointed it out to me.  Take a look at the core of the AZO area, and the core specs.  Storm clearly brought this core over from their now defunt AZO line.  Not a bad thing.  The Area was probably one of the best balls that nobody ever bought.  Not sure about how it will match up with the aggressive shell on the Vivid, but I would love to see this core matched up with a hybrid shell like is on the Frantic.   My guess is we will see it.

In my opinion,it looks like a tweaked version

of the Invasion-Anarchy core.

Could be, but a considerably higher rg.  Storm made them all, so you could be right.

I had lots of conversations with the Roto rep at the time about what they had in either the storm or roto line that was closest to the Area.  They kept telling me Virtual Energy or Anarchy, but I always thought mine acted more like a polished VG. I do know that the Area had a huge change of direction for a rolly core, but seemed to really retain energy into the back end for a lower rev stroker like me.  I hit a couple of tournaments where nobody had the look I did with the Area.  Not a great ball at all on house shots, but I could get it too hit when squared up on long patterns, or from super deep on very broken down patterns.

It does look exactly the same as the Area weightblock

We actually spoke about this topic before in other threads. I believe it IS the Area core! As soon as I saw it, I knew it was.
