A proshop in the center I bowl in is trying to sell me a Paradigm because he said it'll be the latest craze. I just bought a EPX1 because it was going to be the latest craze but it's already cracked and I have a sour taste about getting another new ball. The proshop is replacing it and suggested the Paradigm but I typically don't like particle balls. I'm just a little concerned because the ball info sheet says it's "Pearl Reactive", but when he and I looked at it, we see little tiny specs that are clearly different than normal pearl swirls. Can a Storm Rep or someone who knows Storm bowling balls alot confirm that its particle? Thanks.

It's pearl. It's a new kind of resin coverstock, so it shouldn't be prone to the problems the EPX is having. My boss at the shop drilled one up and loves his so far. It ROLLS very smoothly and is very predictable. I don't want to spend the money, but it looks like a great ball. If it was particle, they'd say it was particle. If you take a look at a Track Arsenal reactive pearl, it kinda has the same look as the Paradigm does.

I am on Storm Amateur Staff and I can tell you this is a Reactive Pearl...Absolutely no Particle added. This is a very good ball. Strong finish and very predictable midlane read...The more I use mine the more I love it. I have been able to use mine on a variety of lane conditions (from house to sport). The only thing this ball is not really good for is heavy oil but that would make sense since it is a pearl cover.

When I first got it I was skeptical, thinking would could be different about this compared to the other Xfactor Pearls. But the ball is more predictable and is not as much jerk out of the dry and not as flaking when hitting oil. The new Rad+ core defiantly creates a higher revving ball motion compared to say the Triple X.

After reading what everyone has wrote about the Paradigm, watching one go down the lane in league and looking at the coverstock closely. It's a particle ball! Look at the clues - Tiny specs which are not porosity because they would be filled in by polish dust - Reaction Smooth mid-lane recovery with a smooth backend... Sounds like a particle reaction to me. I don't have a problem with particle balls or their reaction but be honest.

It's a new formula resin pearl. Chris is right. Needs a ton of oil in the heads. The resin is very very strong, made for the guys on tour with the Brunswick oils.

I heard it's basically resin in its purest form, so that's why its so aggressive(and costs a bit more). Expect alot of companies to start doing this soon.

Sorry, Jeff, but just by looking at it you cannot tell.

There have been balls that looked like pearls that are not.
There have been balls that looked liked solids, but were pearls.
There have been balls that looked like plain resin but have particles.

I can understand that some balls may not look like what they are supposed to be. But when you look at this ball right next to the Ragin' Banshee in the same light, their surface looks identical. Exactly identical. And the Ragin' Banshee is a particle pearl. I'm with Dr. Curve, I seen somebody throw it, and although it looks good, it still reacts like a particle or straight urethane. I don't know, just second guess'n.

Thsi ball is a Reactive Pearl, had mine drilled by Mike Miller today, liked the reaction in practice so I threw it league. Shot 230-267-258=755 fresh out of box with a bit more polish. Excellent midlane and recovery.
