Code Red.....the next Hy-Road?
« on: June 27, 2017, 08:42:23 AM »
Ok, well maybe it's not going to replace the Hy-Road, but I can see this ball being around for many, many, many years.

Is it just me or has Storm easily claimed "Ball of the Year" with the Code Red?  Just got one yesterday and punched it up. This ball is insanely, almost scary versatile. I'm curious, has anyone knocked it down to 500 and tried it on heavy sport?  Think I'll be getting at least 3 more and punch them up different and change the coverstock. Amazing ball!!!!

Storm definitely hit a Homerun here!!!!

I don't think they'll get any points for originality, it IS kind of a no brainer, but yeah.  Hyroad cover with a stronger core, there's just no way that doesn't work.  It's the Hyroad for today's conditions.  If they discontinued the Hyroad now and kept the CR for the next decade, I don't think you'd hear many complaints, or at least you shouldn't.  Making balls like the Code Red should be the focus of the market.  Take things that work and use them.  Physics are constant, and until something massive changes in the world of bowling, ball technology has reached the ceiling.  I for one have zero issue with them just admitting this and continuing to play Mr Potato Head with stuff to give us different looks and keep the selection fresh.  BUT saying everything is the newest and greatest and you have to have it to keep up with the competition is what drives the market, soooo . .

I have been looking at the Code Red and the Torrent.  The houses I bowl in here in Florida seem to be oil deficient. Now my HyRoad it not only the first, but the only ball that comes out of my bag. Took my Code Black to the Military Championships in Vegas last year.  Basically a heavy oil house shot.  Code black was too strong here, and I had to knock it down to 1000 to get it to grab at all in Vegas.  Going to buy both the Torrent and Code Red there, have them drilled and try them there.  Sadly, if they work there, they will go into the closet when I come back to Florida.
14lb 15.5 mph at pins 325 Revs. Silver Coach, Ball Driller. In Bag:  Storm Pro-Motion, Hyroad X, Matchup, Code Red.

The Code Red absolutely has my vote chanfpged the cover to 2000 grit and tonight rolled a 222, 221, and a 245. It was THS.  Can't wait to unleash the beast on Sport. Heading back east to see my Dad before he passes so no tournaments for me this weekend. I'll report back on the results in the coming weeks.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING BALL!!!!

Wow same in Arizona.  It is true what they say. Arizona is Florida without the humidity.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.
