Confused!! (which is more angular/skid snap type reaction)
« on: December 21, 2006, 04:52:57 AM »
Ok I have thrown Storm for many years now, but never have I been more confused.

Look at my profile for my bowling style.  I rely more on the mid-line to low-line of balls for league play and have a few high end line balls for tourneys.  So excluding the domination when analyzing these balls.  I am asking because not may people in my leagues are throwing Storm much anymore so I have not seen any of these balls being throw.  Here is the list on what I am debating on which is the most angular/skid snap reaction.  You opinions please of what you have seen or experienced.

Spit Fire
Fired Up
Thunderstruck Pearl
Thunderstruck Solid - (because I have seen this one and it did look pretty angular form what I saw)
T-Road Pearl

For me, I throw the Spit Fire and I can say hands down that it is the most Angular ball I own.

I agree with AZUS.  I have both balls in box condition with the fireup with more games and it.  The fireup goes longer and snaps harder than the split fire.  The split fire allows me to go straighter up the lane than the fireup.  At nationals last year, I was sliding in the end cap and throwing the fireup out to 8 and blowing the rack.

Fired Up is old skool Storm reaction and the T-Road Pearl, from the ones I have seen appear to be a big backend monster too.

The ThunderStruck solid, GET ONE! Not a big snappy piece but one of the best kept secrets.

Just remember everything out of the box will jump more than a ball with 30 or so games on it.  Compare the balls with similar games on them and layouts.  Don't just throw it once and say WOW this ball has a big backend because you probably said that about your last ball!

Fired up is the more angular of these balls for most conditions. When there is heavier oil, the T-Road Pearl also will give you a very angular reaction - with the RS2 cover (same as Special Agent) there must be a decent amount of oil for the T-Road Pearl (assuming some hand).
