It would make more sense to get your specs and learn what you want the ball to do rather than watch videos of people bowling on shots you're not familiar with throw strikes.

he does. i already know my specs. and im seriously debating on a smooth arching layout or the standard straight up long and snappy with a lot of side weight.. so im left in a stage not knowing what i want to do with this ball and i just want to see some videos of what the ball does for other people. videos of something being used gives you a more lively version of what the ball is capable of. just watch the position of the ball as it hits the BP and pins can tell you alot. yes i understand there are many many layouts and many many patterns but that is besides the point of what i am asking.. i just want to see some videos of what this ball is capable of. instead of seeing nothing but "perfect shots" that people post on youtube.

So just watching some videos of dudes (or chicks) throwing wallbangers with a ball will give you a better idea (even though you don't know what surface, oil, taper, actual length of oil/buff are being used) than giving specs and what kind of balls you have now and getting suggestions?

Good luck...

Next time I want to buy a putter I won't get fit or talk to a pro...I'll just watch videos of pga pros sinking 30 footers....

No duh sherlock, you dont have to put on as a smart genius or something!!! you can lay a ball out to do just bout anything you want it to..... i have bowled on many patterns and understand how to look at the position of the ball as is rolls down the lane to determine the rev rate of that bowler and his or her PAP. ITS NOT ROCKETSCIENCE. and the balls breakpoint visually tells someone the length of the pattern without any known from of data. yea i get your point about the surface of the ball. but im gonna tweek and play with mine anyways. i just want to see some more videos than what is already posted on youtube... thats all. now kapeesh...

Russell, I think your question has been answered (above) as:  Yes, I would like to watch youtube video's of people I dont know and don't know their specs, throw equipment on unknown conditions and strike as a determining factor of how I will lay my ball out.

This gave it away: "seriously debating on a smooth arching layout or the standard straight up long and snappy"

I could be wrong though.

My question is in regards to the quote, "you can lay a ball out to do just bout anything you want it to..... "

Why do you want see the video's if you can just lay it out "to do whatever you want it to do"?

What layouts are you debating? To help you narrow,  the Marvel is a heavy cored symmetric. It layman's terms, its going to roll or start up sooner. With the core from the prodigy, the ball isnt going to "go long and flip." With the cover its going to handle some oil and take well to surface. Doesnt really give you a huge list of optional layouts, either push the pin to 5" to use it for THS or closer to 3" with a low hole if you want to peel. Not many options there.

long and smooth. or good midlane read controllable reaction. or i might just put it into my stronger eqiupment with my taboo and nano and make it strong midlane read with lots of backend. i just wish i had a more visual aspect of the ball.

The Storm Marvel is a symmetrical solid ball, the number are 2.48 rg, .050 diff. They intended that ball to be a heavier oil ball for those who didnt like the asym Virtual Gravitys they were coming out with. Meaning it isnt going to backend. So in order to get the ball to backend you would have to drill it longer pin-to-pap and polish it. Thats not what the ball was intended to do. If you want backend, you want either the modern marwel (for tighter conditions) or the Marvel Pearl which is moreso suited for what i think you're looking for. If you drill the Marvel solid to backend, the ball will be long and smooth. If you drill it strong, its going to have a ton of midlane. As i mentioned above, think of the Storm Prodigy, but a touch earlier. As far as the videos, do your research. There are plenty of vids out there of guys with huge rev rates and large axis rotations who will make the ball look like it backends. However, they have to play the ball deeper in to catch the oil it takes to make the ball backend. So  take that for what it is worth. GOod Luck, and Good Bowling.

thanks righty complex. i agree with you completely on the tons of midlane, which is why i listed the long and smooth layout first. plus my rev rate is rather high and i have a lots of speed on the ball. so the long and smooth layout usually transitions well for me in storms master line. i may just go with the same layout that is on my prodigy which is long and smooth. that layout on the marvel will probably give me 1.15 to 1.2 oz of side weight and just over an ounce of finger weight due to my pin distance being only 2.5 rather than my normal preference of a 4 in pin. so ill probably put a balance hole in a relative position that will bring my side weight down to .75 oz and my finger weight to .5oz. to help it get that little extra length that i would need for a standard ths...... but i still am debating if i want to do a complete 180 and drill it stronger than the layout that is on my nano.
