After struggling a lot this season with our lanes I decided to pull out something that won;t turn sideways off the oil...my Black Phantom.

I put this ball away since the drill pattern tracks quite high for me (drilled #3 as per the old Phantom drill sheets which puts the pin in the grip center and the mass bias on the VAL...almost Rico-esque).

Due to my success with the ball thus far I want to get a "new" urethane. What can you all tell me about the Natural?

My specs are 15-16 MPH, rev rate in the 300 bracket, low axis tilt and very little axis rotation. Our lanes are 40 year old wood, resurfaced 2 years ago with fresh fiinish 3 months ago. Oil pattern is 35 feet buffed to 41, Prodigy, clean backends with a big wall at 8. Get the ball outside 10 early (30') and the ball is headed for the 7 pin. Get it outside late (40') and it hangs.

I am having a very difficult time getting the ball long enough and having it not rocket off the corner while playing up the boards...hence my desire for urethane. The shot I want to play is the old axis weighted Hammer type reaction....real small swing with no big pop out back.

Can I get this with the Natural?

I have a Natural drilled pin above bridge and it is great off the dry.

I use it when I sub in the 9:00 league lots of carry down and torched outside

I have a Liberator also but it is pretty violent compared to my Natural

of the 2 i had the one i had drilled 4x4 with a x hole on my pap. was a very predictable ball was strong enough i could start a set with just had to be farther right then normal. ball was very smooth never jumped at all would just seem to zip up 7 didnt have the best drive but really mixed up the pins good. the other was drilled label with pin out cg in palm was more or less a very good spare ball till they dry up enough. threw it after league and lanes were burnt up and ball was smooth. so i say try one its not gonna jump think you'll like it only problem for me was accuracy isnt my best asset in bowling i usually need 2 to 3 boards and had little room with this ball

I've drilled two for customers.....

#1--Medium speed, lower rev rate, spinner
--Pinned above the middle finger(~4"ish from the pap).  Final statics put the ball at almost 1 oz of finger and almost 1 oz of positive side weight.  The ball gets up the lane and kicks far more than I expected.  

#2--Medium speed, very high rev rate, cranker
--Pinned 5" from PAP, above fingers.  This ball really peels off the dry.  Too strong in box condition to play dead straight thru the fronts(for him).  Provided he gets to the dry the ball hooks and hits VERY well.

Both on the same house shot, an extreme wet/dry house IMO.
