Cracked Paradigm - Looking for Info
« on: January 29, 2006, 06:58:13 PM »
Bought a Paradigm from "Cheapbowlingballs.com" out of Ohio.  Went to a real reputable pro shop (run by former LPBA Champ) in Detroit area to get it drilled.  Well, pro drilled ringer finger about 1/4" away from pin and a crack developed from pin to ring finger hole, before I even rolled it down a lane.
Anyone have this problem, and if so, did you contact Storm directly or place you bought the ball from?  Also, any issues with Storm when contacted about this issue in regards to replacing ball?  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Strom Paradigm's love to crack. I drilled one where the ball cracked before the 31/32 bit (size for grips) even got completly through the surface of the coverstock. I was shocked at how flimsley the coverstocks on these balls are. Very angry as well because now i have to stand at the drill press for 30 min drilling the ball extremly slow.

Bring the ball back to pro shop where you purchase the ball from.  If your pro shop does not take it back just call Ernest @ Storm.  He works in technical support.  His phone # is 1800-369-4402. They will take care of you.  As for Paradigm's cracking both my pearl and solid crack.  I had the pearl replaced for FREE and the Passion has a small crack between the bridge which is normal sometimes.  My new Paradigm Pearl has about 35 games on it a no cracks as of yet.  I love storm products and i back them 100%.  They are the best ball company out there.  My honest opinion.

That's a tricky situation... I bought my Paradigm from Buddies, and it got to me with a crack in it.. I sent it back to Buddies and had a new one within two days.. Quite awesome of them..

Guys, thanks for the feedback.  Called the online store where I bought it and before I was done pleading my case the guy said, "I'm sending you out a new one today".  He attributed the cracking issue on Paradigms and Passions to the larger inserts in these types of balls.  Stated that they make the coverstocks more brittle. Anyway, should be getting the new one soon.  Rolled the Paradigm I had drilled tonight.....HOLY SMOKES.....thing is a monster.  Great break and a fine angle to the pocket. No 7-taps tonight (Lefty).  Great Ball overall.

BigK, they do have a warranty on their products and they do stand by them.  I'd imagine that if your ball is still under their warrenty (don't know how long it is) they'd replace it.  When I contacted Storm about my ball they told me to contact the place I bought it from first, and if they couldn't resolve the issue, get back with them.
