No true particle ball will snap... particles are used to enhance lane friction between the ball and the lane, to reduce the influence of oil. Any particle should recat smoother than a comparable "normal" recative ball as a guideline, although I think there are exceptions to this.
Well, what I can tell about the ACE is that is a pretty strong ball for medium-oily conditions which can move a lot on the backend. Its coverstock base is Accu Tread, a strong and smooth coverstock, although it must be considered last generation's technology. Nevertheless, those ACEs I have seen in proficient bowler's hands make a rather smooth, arcy turn, but not too eraly. Not the skid/flip pattern you might expect from a (reactive) pearl ball like the Paradigm or recently deceased Triple X-Factor.
By the way, I think that on Storm's website, there is a video which compares the Master line balls, among them the ACE, the Vertigo and the Trifecta. This should give you a good impression of the ball. I hope it is still online?
