Cracking Pyro?
« on: May 04, 2006, 10:19:32 AM »
Anyone have a problem with this?  My friend bought his pyro yesterday, we bowled with it yesterday and it was all good.  He went again today and came back telling me that the call had chipped off in a couple different places.  His words were "imagine someone taking a chisel and hammer, and breaking a piece off."  Wayne Webb, our pro shop guy, said it might have been due to a gutter ball clanking around the sides of the ball return machine.  Anyone have chipping problems with the Pyro?

Nope, I've thrown it in a few leagues and it looks fine.

a loose screw near the pins setter is most likely the problem

I haven't heard of any problems with the Pyro... sounds like a lane issue to me.

You know, not to hijack this thread or anything, but you mentioned that Wayne Webb is your proshop guy... Have you guys seen the movie "League of Ordinary Gentlemen"? Wayne Webb is such a pouty, whiney, girly-man in that movie! That tear-jerk needs a therapist.

Yes i have seen this movie and despite what you say, I have the utmost respect for the man.  I've talked to him about the movie and basically it was the worst year of his life.  I mean, I think anyone would act like that in front of a camera if they were going through a rut.  He's all good now and he's gonna go to the qualifiers in August so he's gettin back on track.  I watch him bowl and he looks great!  ITs easy for viewers to generalize a person and call them out without actually getting to know the person, gotta remember too that media shows what they wanna show.  I bet you wont call him those names after he works you on the lanes.    Theres a reason why he's a hall of famer...Got nothin but love for him...

Webb was made out to be pathetic at best in the movie but, if he brings some confidence with him this time, he should do fine IMO.

Hey now, Noy, I never said anything about Wayne Webb's BOWLING. I'm sure he could take me easily, I'm not that good. But that was not the point and I hate it when people on here resort to that explanation.

He's got game. I remember him in the early days when he had that curly MULLET!! He threw some major ball and he had tons of CONFIDENCE! That's why he was winning!!

All I'm saying is that he made me want to spew up some jew-baby corn dogs when I was watching that movie.

In his defense, I'm sure they edited much of his monologue to portray the difficulty of the tour... But geez! He really came across pathetic.

I hope he comes back with some confidence and I hope he wins! But he won't even come close if he's waddling around with his dangly between his legs all the time.

BS
