I hate to say it, but it's so hard to recommend anything on these patterns. They changed the forward/reverse ratio a little on ours and they play so much different than before.
Anyway, we bowled on Athens last week. From practicing and from league, the gutter looks promising, but from pair to pair you either had a good look, or something that looked good, but was too touchy for a realistic player to try. I tried both a flat hand position going right up the ditch, to a more cupped position trying a small belly. After banging my head for almost two games, I moved straight into 4th arrow (this was my best look on the weekend, but didn't want to start there). The track area was insta-hook for me. I used a 2000 abralon Wicked Siege all night. It's my bread and butter ball for just about everything except very long or heavy oil.
