Title: Crossroad - RICO drilling
Post by: NY Mike on March 26, 2013, 03:30:41 PM
I currently have a simple stack drilling and have not been overly impressed with the ball reaction.  Recently picked up another ball and was considering playing around with some different drillings.  Crossroads has received many positive reviews and I am not ready to give up on the ball. I was wondering if anyone has tried a RICO drilling ?  Thoughts/opinions. Thank you

High RG core plus stacked drilling equals puke without oil and the cover isn't strong enough to chew through the amount of oil needed (learned from experience). With that ball, I've had the most success with the pin at around 4.5" from the PAP (up or down) and keeping the CG close so as not to use a hole. The ball's design is to be smooth reacting.

I don't have the Crossroad, but I do have a 15# Hy-Road with a RICO layout. It is the opinion of many to be one of the best ball/layout tandems. The Crossroad has slightly higher dynamics than the Hy-Road for a 15# ball. It's a great layout for a Thunder line ball... especially one that says Road on it!
