Deciding between 2 ball for heavy oil during league play
« on: July 07, 2003, 09:45:08 PM »
Im a lefty bowler who has bowled for about 10 yrs and i avg about 215 normally and i throw 18miles per hr.  This year the league has drenched the lanes and i am avging just 195.  Im looking for a new ball for heavy oil since i still throw an old 3D MAXXX from hammer.

Im deciding between The ADDICTION or THE XFACTOR RELOADED

i dont know too much about the reloaded since it just came out.
the guy at the pro shop is tryin to get me to buy the addiction yet he doesnt know much about the reloaded yet either.  Please let me know what u think

I realize the re-loaded is polished while the addiction is sanded, which should be better for oiled lanes to catch early, but storm claims that the reloaded hooks well in oil and finishes hard in the backend.

I rather have a ball which goes longer and finishes hard in the backend, but i dont know w/ heavy oil if the xfactor reloaded can recover.

Let me know ur pick between the xfactor reloaded and the addiction.
Also if u can give me the best drilling option for each ball.  MEDIUM TO HEAVY OIL- i throw the ball from the middle and swing it between the first and second arrow.

THX AGAIN

If you're deciding between those two only, I would go with the Re-loaded, I think the Mutant from Track would be a better choice, but that's just my opinion.

Hi:

If you wanted to stay with Storm i would recomend the XFactor Duece over the Reloaded. With the Duece you will be able to handle more oil with it.

Bbock,

Based upon what I've seen, the Reloaded will go long, but I'm not sure if it will give you the recovery that you want in truly "heavy oil". As far as the Addiction is concerned, I know that some people like them but it's always looked like a shaky ball to me. It doesn't seem to know what it wants to do. I would second Lefty's suggestion of going with the Deuce. That ball can handle a significant amount of oil, has tons of backend and can be used on mediums if you're willing to swing the ball from deep. My last piece of advice is to STAY AWAY FROM THE TRAUMA RESPONSE!! This is just my opinion, as some people claim to have loved it, but I found the Response to hit like a wet sock. The ball rolled great and made a nice, controlled move to the hole but just refused to carry. And before anyone claims that it was burning out, I only used it on fresh, heavy shots, which don't come along too often in my area, so imagine how frustrated I was that my heavy oil ball couldn't handle it! Anyhow, the reloaded seems like a nice ball for slicker mediums, but I think that the Deuce would be your best bet.

Bowling is without a doubt the dumbest, most pointless, most idiotic excuse for a game that has ever been invented. So, what time are we bowling tomorrow?

i went w/ the reloaded...  remember my avg in this league is 195.. i shot in the 230s and 260s, w/ my last game being a high 260. I cant wait till next week when i have actually had a chance to throw a set w/ the ball
