recharge, alright had enough!
« on: December 03, 2004, 09:16:51 AM »
For everyone who has a recharge, or is a storm lover, i need some help.

I have my recharge drilled 4x4(my 1st stacked drill ever)

It is really smooth reaction to it with little over all hook.

What kind of lane condition do you guys use it on?

I've tried this ball on hvy to med broke down, getting the same reaction except with hvy it just slides alot more.I dont know bc almost everyone says this ball hooks a ton. I dont know if its burning up or just not creating enough friction. I also thought stacked was more snappy?

Any thoughts?

Specs in pfile.

Thanks!

Stacked drillings with the new balls, especially the newer ones with aggressive covers (monsoon, accutread, etc) will just make the ball burn up too soon and roll out.  Thats what I would guess that your Recharcge is doing, eventhough its Monsoon pearl, it is still very aggressive.  But you also get the same type reaction on heavy also; I wonder if the ball is just flaring up too fast and stopping.  The diff on it is high, so it might just be that, flaring then stopping.  This is just my 2 cents though, I would take it back to your pro shop and have them give you suggestions on what might be happening or would could resolve the problem.

Is it bad when you have to list the many bowling balls you've had on MULTIPLE sheets of paper? 148 and counting..............

I don't know, I've seen the XXX be pretty tame too.  I've got a Recharge, and although I used it lefthanded, it's actually pretty strong.  Being also that the left side is a lot drier than the right at the house I bowl at, I saw no roll out, it retained plenty of energy, and ultimately makes me want to drill one righthanded.  It was between label and stacked.

As far as burning up energy, I have an Atomic Charge and a Super Charge.  They're both drilled stacked, with the exception that I put the weighthole on the Atomic a little above my axis, and the one on the Super below and to the right of my axis.  They're both still in box condition, and the Atomic rolls out, doesn't hook much, and just plain gives me fits.  The Super on the other hand, a more aggressive ball with a more aggressive drill, and an rg in the basement reacts just perfectly.  Plenty of energy left for the backends, rolls up to the pocket, has hit that would put any Buzzsaw to shame, and carries the world.  Why is it that a less aggressive ball with a higher rg, and a tamer weighthole placement would have the symptoms of burning up whereas a ball that should burn up more quickly doesn't?  I don't know, and sometimes it's just unexplainable.  I've had 3 Raging Red Fuzes now, all three drilled exactly the same, weightholes in the same place, everything.  The first two were awesome, and this new one hooks early and rolls out.  I'm not throwing it any differently, and the conditions definitely aren't different.  Honestly can't tell you or explain it any better than that.

thanks for the replies so far.

Hampster- i dont think it could be rolling out, i mean anyone coud tell if it was doing that. That looks MORE LIke the dirty bomb video reaction.

Anyways if it is burning up, i made it worse, i put a grey scotch brite pad to it a little bit to see what happens. Im bowling today for highschool again, same house, wood lanes. It starts out really hvy, so ill try it. Yesturday, i noticed alot of pll scoring down and in, so i pulled out my prostock, and it couldnt do nothing, thru my power diesel and it wouldnt recover so i got The recharge back out and hit up 1st arrow and it worked great.

Also do u think it could be burning up or anything liek that bc of high track? or higher revs?

I know it's easy to tell if a ball's rolling out or not, but it CAN be tough sometimes to know if it's burning up, cause some balls still have a little left on the backend, even though they might not have all the energy.

The ball with its high diff could actually be flaring to much. Therefore when it hits the backend it is rolling over oil on the ball and weakens the backend. Try to put a hole in between the pin and your positive axis point if you don't have a hole in it. Probably go 1 1/2" towards the pin.
