Storm Screamin' Banshee
« on: September 19, 2005, 01:23:38 PM »
I just had a Screamin' Banshee drilled up after it was highly recommended to me. I have only thrown a couple frames with it thus far and it seems like a very predictable ball with a ton of versatility.

It's meant for a medium to light oil condition with a very smooth reaction. I'm very excited to see what it can do.

Anyone have any comments on this ball??? :-)

I think it'll be a sleeper this season. Most won't look at it until they have to then realize they should have had this one in the bag all season. Sounds like you picked yourself a winner early, Good Luck with it.

A lot better ball than most think...IMO

I threw one on medium heavy oil outside top hat  and loved it!

Smmoth strong move and big hit.

I love the idea of pairing this up with a Diablo for more of an inside play!

I see the Diablo as every bit as good as the supercharge if not a little better!
For that medium heavy oil inside shot!

Don't be afraid to go with a low pin layout.  One of the bowlers(right handed) on my team has one drilled pin up high and right, CG towards center of grip.  Based on what I see when he throws it, anyone with any amount of hand will get a pretty snappy reaction with a pin up drilling.

Just my $.02

Thanks for the response on this topic!

Lane conditions tonight actually didn't allow me to throw it. Not to mention I didn't feel quite comfortable with it yet, since I haven't thrown it hardly at all.

But I will say that I threw it earlier today while warming up and the first full game with it was a 226, so... Not too shabby.

Very smooth reaction through the lane from what I've thrown. Pretty predictable. A couple times I got a little more snap than I wanted. I think because it's still so new... Could have been user error, LOL!

I must disagree with romchip... I think the ball IS pretty! Ha ha! Nah, it actually does look really cool reving down the lane, though.

UPDATE:
I shot my first 3-game set with the Screamin' Banshee tonight in a tournament. I posted a solid 249-167-213 for a 629 set to put myself in position to WIN the tourney. I ended up shooting other games of 210, 204, and 217, which for me, is very solid. I had to switch to my Brunswick Dry/R to finish up the tourney (cooked lanes!) but all in all, it was the Banshee that put me there. I LOVE THIS BALL!!!

Update, just shot my 2nd full 3-game set with the Screamin' Banshee. ANOTHER 600 set. 601 to be exact. Game 1: 189 (1 open frame), Game 2: 199 (CLEAN), Game 3: 213 (1 open). *Keep in mind that I'm fairly new to the game and in my 1st league season ever.*

So versatile and forgiving. The best ball in my bag!
