Trauma ER

Been bowling with a 14lb Triple Xtreme, but have been given a 15lb Trauma ER to try. If drilled the same way, would the reaction of the Trauma be comparable to the Xtreme?

They would be similar as stated above, though the ER is slightly weaker than the XXXtreme. I would NOT give up the ER though. The ER is without a doubt one of the greatest balls every produced (in my and many other opinions) and has become very difficult to find...

Thanks for the replies. So would I be correct in saying the Xtreme is for heavy oil, and the ER being more for medium/heavy? I ask because I have been told different opinions about what the Xtreme is actually for (medium/heavy or heavy).

Well I threw the Trauma ER for the first time tonight, and shot a 647 which is good for me considering my 175-180 average. I can see why many people rate this ball so highly. Can't wait to bowl with it again!

its a freaking great ball, I am always on the look out for them, I would love to get one and polish it up for a freaking strong but controlable medium ball. I have the triple xtreme which I wanted so badly to be the ER, its mucho stronger.

ER is a damn good ball. Pushed easily down the lanes and recovers nicely for me when i was throwing them. Kinda wish I had 1 now.

Even though I thought the Recovery kinda sucked myself (it didn't hook . . at all . . ), I had some of my best sets with it, and wish I could find one now.  I DID however find a very slightly used 16 lb ER that I got from a friend for 30 bucks.  You wanna talk about the deal of the century.  All I had to do was plug the fingers and move them down a bit, I just reslugged the thumb.  Gave it a resurface, and it's as good as new.  I found it to be stronger than my Xtreme.  My Xtreme was quite a bit weaker than it was supposed to be.  Still a great ball, just didn't hook much.  I shot 651 with my ER last night at a house that's been pretty tough for me.  It's really dry, and I started the night inside 4th arrow, and eventually moved to 5th.  I was laying the ball down on 37 and getting it out to 6, and it'd roar back every time.  Went high a couple times, and left me some 10's, but I only had one open, and that was just a 10 I flagged.  Awesome ball, you'll be glad you have one.

I think of both the Extreme and the ER as great balls having a lot of recovery on medium heavy oil conditions.

One is mass bias(extreme) one is symmetric Trauma ER.

Both are good for projecting the ball well down a medium heavy pattern but have plenty of get back!

A friend the other day had a great first game with his Super charge but the shot stayed wet and opened up.  He stayed with the Super Charge and couldn't find the sweet spot.  Since we were bowling his team I was glad he didn't pull out his Trauma ER and tear us up as the shot called for that type of inside attack angle.

What the ER was famous for!

LL, are you positive about this? I had one the first year they came out and I may be wrong, but I keep thinking it  was assymetric and had a MB. As I said, I may be wrong.........Bottom line, it was a great 10 Pin ball. Nine every hit.

LL is half right and half wrong in regards to the Trauma ER.  The shape of the core is symmetric... but there is mass bias due to a difference in core density off to one side of the core.

me wrongy about mass bias.  Not as strong a mass bias as extreme.
But a mass bias

Regardless...a great ball!

No problem carrying inside with ER on medium heavy!

I had an ER and loved it. It was a great ball all around. Then one day the lanes took a nasty chunk out of it, and I had it fixed. It was never the same. Tried everything. Polished it, brought it back to oob condition, nothing, just wasn't the same. I have no clue what happened.

I had an ER, I gave it away, should of kept it. Anyway a young friend of mine has it now and loves it because he likes to swing the ball. My ball driller has both, he uses the Extreme for a heavier shot. He turns the ball quite a bit though. The ER can handle a fair amount of oil depending on the cover.

I just picked one up earlier this week, and it's rolling awesome.  LOVE IT.  I haven't been impressed with most of Storm's recent offerings, it's nice to get back to some old school stuff!
