hyroad vs reign supreme
« on: December 07, 2010, 11:31:07 AM »
Alright I have a hyroad drilled rico but everything is at 30 degrees instead of 45 I an I took off the polish. An I was wondering how a reign supreme would react with the same layout an surface on it or even with the box finish please all opinions are welcome

HY-ROAD is quicker and more angular at the breakpoint.

Jeff, you don't find the Reign series more angular than the T-Road series? I'm sure you know better than me, what have you seen?

i think riggs got it backwards
reign more angular and hooks more 3-5ish boards

I don't throw either one of these, but the anchor guy I bowled against last week had both of these, and from what I saw, the Reign Supreme is a little quicker off the dry, with a more angular move.

Now...all that being said, obviously the RS is newer with a cleaner shell, and the Hyroad is older, having been used more....so surface prep should be a key consideration in this evaluation.

But that was just my observation.

I have them playing the same as riggs.. My hyroad is drilled 5 x 4.5 and reign supreme is 5.5 x 4.5.. With the logistics of drillings being the reign supreme is drilled slightly weaker. But I've thrown both on a variety of patterns and I see the hyroad being more angular off the pattern where the supreme is similar in length but but smoother off the spot

The REIGN SUPREME for me makes a more sweeping, arcing type of angular move whereas the HY-ROAD''s movement is quick and angular and not as long lasting.
Does that make sense?
It''s not so much that the movements are different in shape as they are different in quickness.
For me, the REIGN SUPREME is about as strong but much easier to control because it''s move is slower than the HY-ROAD.

Yeah, when each ball hits the spot, the Hy-Road seems to turn quicker and burn up faster than the Reign Supreme.  The RS seems (to me) to be stronger in that the hook is more continuous.
