Tropicals
« on: June 11, 2008, 03:11:33 AM »
Is there very much, if any, difference in reaction between the different colors of Tropicals?  I had heard the  black/pink one was much more aggressive.  Looking mainly for comparisons of length and response to friction.  It would be for a 500+ rpm player.  Thanks.

i'll agree with this, the blk/pink seems to have just more overall hook than the other colors. The blue/orange seems to start up the soonest and have a smooth, consistent hook, and every blue/green one i've seen is dead skid snap! weird huh?

I do know that it seems like my polished purple teal goes longer down the lane before making it's move on the dry than my buddy's blue / yellow.  It also looks better going down IMO, the yellow / blue looks weird going down the lane.

I don't think that one is more aggressive than another. I could be wrong, but I thought they were just simply different colors, and that's it. To my knowledge, they all have the same coverstock and the same core.

I'd be willing to bet that variations of stock surface out of the factory is more responsible for one color appearing to hook more or less than another...

It's all in your heads.  Just like every other "does the color affect the hook" post.

well the old tropicals were angular and u can see it on storms chart, the newer colors are a bit earlier and more ARCIER i guess

Im so glad people are brainwashed to thinking that if they buy a new ball they will carry everything. And its even funnier when im carrying with my 15 year old ball and they're going flat ten.

well they all got the same cover i believe but it seems that the color red and black seem to hook more at least in my opinion but these ain't by no means a dry lane ball look at the cover its the same as the domination i do believe

A Tropical for heavy to med oil????? WOW, you must have a lot of hand or a much different view of heavy oil than me.
