New video and review: Tropical Breeze Hybrid Cherry/Black
« on: August 22, 2012, 03:52:39 PM »
Check out our latest review, video, and Digitrax analysis at:

The Tropical Breeze Hybrid, while being a condition specific ball, works very well on that condition. Even when the lanes breakdown, you will still want to use this ball more to the outside of the track area. If the lanes completely break down, you will likely see some good smooth motion from this ball.
The Tropical Breeze Hybrid is one of those balls where you will not use every night, but when you hit that blown out pattern where you simply need some control with a down and in shot, you will be very glad you kept this in the bag.

How does this compare with the Roto Grip Scream and Shout?  I'm looking for a lighter oil pattern ball and these 3 all seem like good options.
Current Equipment
Alpha Jackal
Jackal Flash
Primal Shock
Rogue Assassin
Revolt Havoc
Revolt Vengeance
Venom Shock
Blue Coral Venom
Fatal Venom
Dessert Tank

We haven't had a chance to compare them directly but from the looks of it, the Scream and Shout will likely be just a touch more ball than the Tropical Breeze.  The Breeze will be more for torched conditions where as the Scream and Shout can handle lighter conditions.

What do you think would be better for true toast, the hybrid, or the pearl Breeze?

Honestly, I don't think it matters much at all.  The difference between the hybrid at 1500-grit polished OOB and pearl is almost negligible in my opinion.
They have the same ball motion.
Personally, I take the Hybrid since it could offer just that tad bit more versatility if you want to tweak the coverstock finish.
