The Storm 1500 polished surface

Hello to the Storm community.
Most of Storm Balls are finished with 1500 grid Polished.
Anyone knows why is that?
Even more important to me, how can i get back once i tried something else (like 2000 or 4000 grid)?

Storm Balls with 1500 polished surface:
Shift - Domination - orig. Paradigm and Agent - Spit Fire - Pyro - Fired Up - T-Road Pearl - Thunderstruck Pearl - Thunderstruck - Jolt - Jolt Particle - Jolt Pearl - Tropicals-

Storm Balls with other surface finish:
Passion (500) - Special Agent (2000) - Double Agent (1000) - Diablo (800)

They generally use this as it is a more moderate-less aggressive finish, which works very well on typical lane conditions, and those who would use it on other conditions generally know enough about bowling to change the ball to the desired surface.  If you want to get it back to OOB, sand it back up to 1500 grit, then add a desired polish on top. (Storm's polish actually has particles in it to take equipment to 1500, but sand it there first just for thoroughness, some polishes have a grit, some just add a polish)

Thank you Myrrodin, but its not easy over here to find 1500 grid Abralon Pads do you use something else?

The question about the 1500 Storm preference is because i see other companies seems to have preferred grids (i would say Hammer is 4000ish).

I don't usually mess with my surface on stuff, but I'm pretty sure you can wet sand it there, or you can try Scotch-Brite.  Try asking in the coverstock preparation section of the forums.

To mimic the factory surface.....

Sand to 600 grit with wet/dry sandpaper on four sides of the ball. Clean off the ball with a clean towel and water. Then use Step #2 polish on 2 sides of the ball. I normally use my free hand to help generate more heat. The extra heat will help "tack up" the ball.

I love 1500 grit polished. However, I have 2000 polished on my Ace and Tropical Storm to tame them down a bit.

I found the 1.500 grit base plus polish best on the Storm balls I own (Trauma, Eraser PP). I use a 1.500 grit sanding pad (not 3M, was hard to find) and then apply Brunswick's High Gloss polish, both from 4 sides.
Very nice and clean surface, almost no sanding lines visible anymore when done with a glassy surface.
I'll try a 2.000 Abralon base since I have currently huge success with this base + polish on other balls, even though I do not expect much difference in reaction.
