Accu-Tread coverstock
« on: January 26, 2007, 07:45:40 AM »
Hi,

I always had great success with this coverstock from Storm.  Eraser and X-Factor.
What other balls in Storm's lineup past/present have this coverstock and how would you rate them?

There have been a mountain of Accu-tread balls in the past.  Don't forget Pro-thane, as that's just Accu-tread with particles, there have been a bunch of those as well.

The only balls with Accu-tread now are the solid and pearl Jolts.  Everything else except the first two Paradigms are Reactor-based.

Accu-Tread and Monsoon.....my two all time favorites in the Storm line-up. When those covers went south, my success with Storm balls went south also, so I had to leave Storm and go elsewhere.

I had a mountain of success with my one accu-tread ball, the El-Nino Gold. The Monsoon ball I had did NOT match up with me at all. Now I've got an EOX ball and man oh man is that thing my bread and butter (Passion). I just think I match up better to solid balls though, b/c my Monsoon was the XXX Factor and we just didn't click at all. I'm looking forward to buying a Reactor based ball, gotta see what that offers me.

I love my two Accu Tread Storm, balls: my Trauma and an Eraser Particle Pearl. Judged by today's standards, they do not appear to be flippy, but with their stronger cores than the Jolts these balls rock on medium condition, with a nice arcing reaction, easy to control.

Used my Trauma in league yesterday on a lighter sport pattern, and it yielded a new personal 5 game series record for me (1.014), including my official high game of the running season (233).

A shame that this stuff is not sold with the Twin V-core from the Fire series. Should be a great, more arcing alternative slightly below the Fired Up or Spitfire.

I'd add the Pro-Thane coverstock balls, which have an Accu Tread base, too, e.g. the Depth Charge, Eraser Particle Pearl, Super Power... a LOT of balls!
