Hi funk , I bought the Fear Factor and i play on wood lanes that are very slick and oily. I drilled my ball with weight block shifted pin above ring finger and RAD by the thumb hole. I usually use most of the lanes when i bowl, but on the slick oil surface i had the same problem as you the ball would slide out too much to recover.
I changed my line because of this, i usually stand on the left side about 3rd arrow and i push the ball out to the right about 3rd arrow, and on medium conditions my ball rolls well carrys in the midlane and i have no problem scoring.
On the heavy oil , i don't think i put enough revs and speed on the ball for it to hold that line so i move toward the middle and i go alot straighter . I don't think its ball i think its more so the way i bowl, theres 3 other guys in my league with the Fear Factor and they have no problem with it . I just think its the way i had it drilled and my way of bowling that makes me take a different line.
Try to adjust to the center a little bit like you said and see if you can find your way to the pocket better. You could also sand it down if you wanted to but i think if you adjust a little bit you wont have the problem anymore. Had the ball for about 6 months hits hard for me and i love it . I hope i was helpful.
