The particle pearl r2s cover allows it to perform on any medium type lane condition, however, as this cover creates some friction in the oil, it's not enough to handle heavy and long oil patterns. Surface adjustments will help, but will only be a short term solution.

Personally, I'm not a Shift believer and don't use it much. Also, mine cracked and it wasn't the driller's fault. Anyways, I'm with Dan, the T-Road Pearl is an awesome compliment to the SA. When I get busy, I stick to the Special Agent and T-Road Pearl for all my needs.

Wheat: Are you saying the T-Road Pearl handles more oil then
the Shift?

Would the line up look like this:

SA
T-Road Pearl
Shift

I took my Shift's cover down to 2000 abralon. I bowled on a double oil 42 ft patern with clean backends. The first oil and strip the ball was hooking. I was standing 30 and going 18 out to 10. THen when my friend oiled again but not touching the backend i was able to stand on 20 and go 12 to 8. This was the only ball that went down and had great recovery. All my others balls like the Black Widow which i had at 1000 abralon went straight and was more mellow on the backend. Both the Shift and the WIdow are drilled exactly the same.

The TRP is best on more medium type conditions. Heavy oil will cause the reactive pearl to overskid, creating a delayed breakpoint. Straighter angles through the front part of the lane will help, but again, it's best sticking to medium type conditions.

Now, the SA is a good baseline ball for medium to heavy oil conditions.
