drilling my tour power
« on: January 27, 2005, 08:23:13 AM »
I like my pro shop driller but sometimes his drills are not what I am looking for.  I was tring to get this to be more of a light to med control ball with a little pop on the backend.  It has a 4 inch pin, and polished almost like glass.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I have higher revs, med to high speed lefty, Thanx

Not your typical lefty, I have to work for my shot

IMO...the Tour Power is the kind of ball that will react very evenly, almost regardless of how you drill it.  So, if you are at all concerned about length (even with some ball speed) I would try to get the pin over the ring finger or at least above a line from your ring finger to your axis.  I would put the pin 5 1/2" inches from your axis or so (depending on what you have had success with in the past) and either stack the c.g. under the pin or leave it in the grip center.

If you want to pm me with some more details I would be happy to offer some more thoughts.  I drilled several Tour Powers when they first came out and really learned what worked and what didn't.
